Families choose NIS not just for what we teach, but for how we teach and the values that guide everything we do. Here are just a few of the reasons why so many see NIS as the right fit for their child’s future.
Recruited globally and chosen with care, NIS teachers are more than qualified; they’re mission-aligned educators who know how to spark curiosity, foster belonging, and make learning fun. Every hire reflects our commitment to hiring teachers know their craft and are excited to be part of our community.
Located just outside the city, our spacious, green 7.5-acre campus, offers students room to learn, play, and grow. Our modern, purpose-built facilities create a world-class learning environment where students feel safe, inspired, and free to explore.
Learning at NIS doesn’t stop when class ends. Through a diverse range of co-curricular activities, students explore new interests, develop confidence, and build friendships that extend beyond the classroom. From creative arts to athletics to leadership opportunities, there’s something for every age and passion.
Our dedicated support team includes language and learning specialists, two college counselors (international and Japanese pathways), two social-emotional counselors, and a full-time school nurse. Together, they ensure every student has what they need to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially, so nothing stands in the way of their learning or well-being.
Our values are the foundation of how we act as a community. How we learn, connect, and grow together. These shared values of Safety, Responsibility, Belonging, and Growth guide every interaction, decision, and classroom experience. They ensure every student feels seen, safe, and supported, while empowering them to act with integrity, contribute meaningfully, and flourish as confident, compassionate learners.
As a not-for-profit school, every decision and every dollar is focused on what matters most, your child’s learning. There are no owners or shareholders; all resources are reinvested into enhancing programs, supporting teachers, and improving facilities. This structure ensures that our mission, not profit, drives everything we do and that our students benefit directly from that commitment every single day.
